‘Labor of Love:’ Fox’s New Dating Show Has Men Compete to be Future Fathers
For one thing, the show made no bones about the fact that it takes place at a posh resort — a resort in Costa Rica, with rainforest all around and plenty of options for visually striking challenges. And for another, no one pretended the cast was anything other than a decent mix of likeable people and camera-mugging jerks, as well as that middle ground of reality show contestants who are mostly just there. For all its visual advantages, and there were many, the show was falling flat by about the third episode, mostly because it never found a way to combine its two genres effectively.
Wild on Netflix. The service covers the network reality-show bases, too, with music competition Rhythm + Flow and sleep-deprivation game show.
See the gallery. Title: Love in the Wild — An enticing series in which coupling takes place randomly and the journey to search for love begins despite challenges and annoying partners. The best couple gets a chance to tour the world together. This show is definitely as stereotypical as all other reality shows. However it brings a refreshing twist. The cynical themes of survivor are replaced with a funner atmosphere.
Also, the players in the game are identifiable people, not just actresses and models in it to boost a television career. However, they are all way above average in good looks which makes it sur-real but is half-expected in a new show thats trying to gain a fan base. I actually find myself rooting for the couple of Ben and Brandee because they make a pretty cool team, in a sort of love-hate way. I am interested to see how relationships develop and how the drama plays out as the show goes on.
Definitely fun to watch.

The series takes four couples at a crucial time in their relationship, splits them up in two houses, and surrounds them with sexy single people to date over the course of the show. Either the couples will weather the storm or they’ll give into temptation, but there will inevitably be drama no matter what happens with that many men and women living in fancy villas together. Temptation Island is hardly the first insane-sounding show centered around dating on TV and not even the first version of Temptation Island , but it might just be the most cruel and therefore entertaining.
Join us as we take a walk through some of TV’s other wild TV dating concepts—minus The Bachelor, because in comparison, one person dating 30 other people and slowly eliminating them is practically a normal way to date at this point. Temptation Island might be the most twisted of them all, just because its stars are not even single. The show takes four established couples, splits them up into guys and girls, then puts the girls in a house full of single guys and the guys in a house full of single girls.
